The River Jordan, Florida
Did you know that the Yellow River had another name before the 1800s? The end in Spanish Florida was called the River Jordan while the portion in Alabama was called the Yellow River (due to its color). After the United States acquired Spanish Florida, the river was renamed Yellow River for its entire length.
